Health of the Energetic and Spiritual Body
Health of Spirit
Understanding our energetic and spiritual energies can be challenging to some people, as these constructs are not as concrete as mind or body. However, most people can "sense" these deeply connected and intuitive parts of themselves and their surroundings.
Somewhere deep inside each of us are the universal spiritual questions of "Who am I?" and "What's the purpose of life?" Attention to these primary beliefs and the "connection" to things broader and greater to one's individual self is highly correlated to increased lifelong health and happiness.
- from the Healthful Living Model
The spiritual body is the part of us having to do with divine creation and purpose. This is the part of us that asks the universal spiritual questions of "Who am I?" and "What's the purpose of life?" It is this very area of life where human beliefs overlap, and all religions share similar constructs, for example:
Attention to these primary beliefs and the "connection" to things broader and greater to one's individual self is highly correlated to increased lifelong health and happiness.
- That there is something (or someone) greater than humans
- The "golden rule" for interpersonal interactions
- Some concept of faith – ourselves, others, God
At Healthful Living, when we refer to "energy body," we are thinking in terms of energy vibration. Applications of these concepts and energies have been used in ancient traditions and civilizations for many millennia. In Indian traditions, chakras are energy vortexes that impact our physical life force; body, mind, and spirit. Chinese medicine and acupuncture use energy channels called meridians.
Modern science is now studying, measuring, and gaining advanced understanding of these energies. We know that thoughts affect energy, that praying affects healing, and that our genes may affect our belief in God. Western medicine is beginning to incorporate energetic healing modalities into the medical setting – by offering acupuncture in pain management programs, homeopathy in surgery recovery, and forgiveness programs into cancer clinics.
There are many forms of energetic healing. Acupuncture, Reiki, homeopathy, flower remedies, herbs, essential oils, crystals, gems, and magnetic therapy are just a few. Check the Healthful Living Practitioner page for links to healers who practice varied forms of energetic Healing. Healthful Living founders, Martin and Julie Matthews each practice different (yet similar) forms of energetic healing. Julie is a Certified Bioenergy Balancing practitioner, and Martin works with DNA Activation and the modality of Holographic Healing.
